This album is really hot! And refreshing at the same time, like the clear water of a cooling oasis. Let's discover mysterious voices of sunken desert cities, driving exciting beats and wonderful soundscapes!
A real treat!

Why would anyone build bridges in a Peruvian desert? No doubt this is the first question that comes to mind when encountering "Bridges to Sechura.”
Rest assured, this is not about structures made of metal and stone. The bridges stand here as an allegory, as a metaphor of connection, of bringing together and overcoming barriers.
An important theme, especially in our times, which is also symbolic of the collaboration between the two artists who, even though they are nearly 1000 km apart, have been regularly merging into an acoustic unit for many years.
As in their debut album "A Constant State of Flow", Sven and Simon once again take us on an imaginary journey to distant horizons–dreamy and enraptured in gentle synthesizer sounds, but also punctuated and grounded by rhythm-focused drums and well-placed acid lines.
We wish you a wonderful journey!

Electronic music’s fearsome couple Kossler & Matthews once again get their freak flag on for another deep dive into the big blue aquatic depths of liquidtronica. It’s a veritable blipfest of sound and vision, and a sequencer smorgasbord that doesn’t simply ape the Berlin school as transmogrify it. Kossler & Matthews have a historical abiding for, and obvious love of, the kinds of propulsive analog intelligentsia fomented by everybody from Ian Boddy and his DIN contingent to Atom Heart’s early glurp ’n’ slurp and the healthy, timeless surge of B12 and other members of UK’s finest. The beautiful, Vangelis-like crystal vibrations of “A Sacred Journey” are indeed fleet and fragile things, embracing the vagaries of Steve Roach’s ambient fantasias, but it’s undoubtedly the two lengthy epics, “Nocturnal Drift” and “Stern von Sechura”, that launch the duo’s space-music worship into the farthest reaches of the cosmos. The former could easily soundtrack the next NASA Voyager star trek, all Kubrick-esque twinkles and widescreen soar, the latter a rugged journey across a whirlygig maze of silicon diodes, velvet-soft pads, and circuitry embroidered in a weave bound together by delicate pulses and a deft, light touch. Beauty is surely in the ear of the beholder, maxed out by two of Carpe Sonum’s veteran pilots of purple twilights.

This is my fav album of 2021 so far and my fav AOC release to date. It encapsulates everything I love about electronic music – moody drifting drones, melodic tones, spoken word samples and beats scattered here and there. It has been on constant rotation since I picked it up last month. 😃 d york
